Cancellation of Course Offerings
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas reserves the right to eliminate, cancel, phase out or reduce in size courses and/or programs for financial, curricular, or programmatic reasons.


Change in Class Schedule
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas reserves the right to change class times, days, buildings, room numbers, instructors, fees, etc. where circumstances warrant such changes. It is the student’s responsibility to check with the department before the class begins to see if any changes have been made. The online course dlistings on the UNLV website are updated daily. Students are encouraged to check the web for additions, changes, and cancellations.


Copyright and Fair Use Policies
The university requires all members with the university community to familiarize themselves and to follow copyright and fair laws. The university will neither protect nor defend you nor assume any responsibility for employee or student violations of copyright and fair use laws. Violations of copyright laws could subject you to federal and state civil penalties and criminal liability as well as disciplinary action under university policies. Drug-Free Schools & Communities Act Amendments, 1989
The abuse of alcohol and the use of illegal drugs by members of the university community are incompatible with the goals of an academic institution. In order to ensure alcohol and illegal drugs do not interfere with the goals of the university, substance abuse programs have been developed which apply to the university as both an educational institution and a workplace.


Freshman On-Campus Housing Regulation
All new freshmen coming to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from high schools outside of Clark County, Nevada who are taking more than six credits are required to live on campus for their first year. For additional information, check the Campus Housing website.

Hazardous Waste
Certain courses may require students to work with potentially hazardous materials in the laboratory, darkroom, or workshop as part of the course work. Instructors will provide instructions regarding the safe handling of all materials. Questions regarding the use of these materials should be directed to the specific academic departments or the instructor.


Health Insurance
Payments for health insurance will be accepted until February 28, 2007 through the insurance carrier. Payments will not be accepted after that date. All F-1 UNLV international students are required to purchase UNLV health insurance. International students are automatically charged health insurance fees when they register for classes. Please remember to enclose the insurance form with your payment. Forms may be obtained through the Student Health Center. Disability Resource Center
Disability Resource Center provides disability services, tutoring services, and learning strategies. This is the office to assist the students with documented disabilities who are otherwise qualified to attend university courses. If you have a documented disability that may require assistance, you will need to contact Disability Resource Center for coordination in your academic accommodations. This assistance does not include parking or transportation. Parking Services may be reached at 702-895-1300 Disability Resource Center is located in the Reynolds Student Service Complex, room 137. RebelCard (Student ID Card)
Registered students are eligible for a UNLV identification card. RebelCards are good for your entire college career and may be obtained from the RebelCard Service Center in Room 116 of the Moyer Student Union. Call 702-895-2351 for a list of current hours. There is no cost for the first ID card. If a card is broken (and is presented), the cost is $10 to replace. For all other replacements, the cost is $20. Religious Holidays
Any student missing class quizzes, examinations, or any other class or lab work because of observance of religious holidays shall be given an opportunity during that semester to make up missed work. The make-up will apply to the religious holiday absence only. It shall be the responsibility of the student to notify the instructor no later than the last day at late registration of his or her intention to participate in religious holidays which do not fall on state holidays or periods of class recess. This policy shall not apply in the event that administering the test or examination at an alternate time would impose an undue hardship on the instructor or the university which could not be avoided.


Senior Citizen Registration
In-state senior citizens (62 years of age and older) may take university courses for credit or audit without paying per credit registration fees during fall and spring semesters either as admitted students or non-admitted students, contingent upon availability of space and instructor approval. The per credit technology fee, health fee, special course fees, and books and lab fees must be paid by the student.
